Overview

  • Actinomyces ihuae, (aka Actinomyces ihumii), is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Actinomyces ihuae is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Fonkou2018)

  • This organism has been recovered from stool sample of an HIV-infected man, France. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
