Overview

  • Actinomyces marseillensis is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 57.1%. Actinomyces marseillensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Fonkou2018; Fonkou2018a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Fonkou2018) and sputum. Can cause opportunistic infections, particularly in immunocompromised people. A possible gut commensal.
