Overview

  • Alistipes inops is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 56.6%. Alistipes inops is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Shkoporov2015)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Shkoporov2015). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
