Overview

  • Alloprevotella rava, (aka Prevotella sp. oral taxon 302), is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 3 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 47%. Alloprevotella rava is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Downes2013)

  • This organism has been recovered from oral cavity. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Probably an oral commensal that passes through the GI tract.
