  • Anaerococcus marasmi is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 35.4%. Anaerococcus marasmi is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Tall2020)



  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (child with marasmus - Tall2020). Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. Is a known gut commensal.
