Overview

  • Anaerococcus murdochii is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. Anaerococcus murdochii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Song2007)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (probably transient) and clinical sources (ulcer). It is an opportunistic pathogen. Likely to be transient and not a long-term gut commensal.
