Overview

  • Anaerococcus rubeinfantis is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 29.5%. Anaerococcus rubeinfantis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Alou2016)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (infant suffering from kwashiorkor - Alou2016). Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. A possible gut commensal.
