Overview

  • Aneurinibacillus migulanus, (aka Bacillus migulanus), is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly aerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 42.5%. Aneurinibacillus migulanus is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Heyndrickx1997; Shida1996; Logan2011aBergey; Takagi1993)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces and garden soil. The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 1, i.e., low risk of infection and spread. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Is a known gut commensal.

  • NOTES

Weakly utilises both trans-aconitate and cis-aconitate. Like A. aneurinilyticus, A. migulanus can utilise hydroxyquinoline-b-glucuronide and octanoate. Unlike its relative, this organism can also use protocatechuate: https://opsin.ch.cam.ac.uk/opsin/Protocatechuic%20acid.png
