Overview

  • Bacillus baekryungensis, (aka Bacillus genomospecies SW-93), is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 41.0%. Bacillus baekryungensis is unlikely to be a gut coloniser. (Yoon2004)

  • This organism has been recovered from seawater from Korea. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. It's gut microbiome symbiotic status is unknown.

  • QUIRKS
  • Requires sodium and can withstand 20% salt concentration.
