Overview

  • Bacillus marasmi is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 38.2%. Bacillus marasmi is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Pham2017a; Sarr2021)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (child with marasmus - Pham2017a). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
