Overview

  • Bacillus tuaregi is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic, motile, fusiform bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 39.4%. Bacillus tuaregi is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Cadoret2017; Pham2017b)

  • This organism has been recovered from the faeces (Cadoret2017) of a healthy child, Nigeria. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Is a known gut commensal.
