Overview

  • Bacteroides ihuae is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 39.71%. Bacteroides ihuae is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Andrieu2018)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Andrieu2018) and human sputum. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Is a known gut commensal.
