Overview

  • Bacteroides reticulotermitis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 44.9%. Bacteroides reticulotermitis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Sakamoto2013a)

  • This organism has been recovered from the gut of the subterranean termite Reticulitermes speratus. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
