Overview

  • Bacteroides timonensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 5 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 43.3%. Bacteroides timonensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Bilen2016a; Pfleiderer2013; Ramasamy2014; Pfleiderer2018)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
