Overview

  • Bacteroides zoogleoformans, (aka Prevotella zoogleoformans), is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 47%. Bacteroides zoogleoformans is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Cato1982; Moore1994)

  • This organism has been recovered from patients with periodontitis. Is a rare opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
