Overview

  • Bifidobacterium lemurum is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, microaerophilic, non-motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 57.2%. Bifidobacterium lemurum is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Modesto2015)

  • This organism has been recovered from the faeces of a ring-tail lemur. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
