Overview

  • Brevibacterium ravenspurgense, (aka Brevibacterium massiliense), is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 3 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. Brevibacterium ravenspurgense is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Bernard2016; Roux2009)

  • This organism has been recovered from clinical sources (blood, wound, vagina - CCUG) and human faeces. It is an opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.
