Overview

  • Butyricimonas synergistica is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 5 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 44.8%. Butyricimonas synergistica is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Sakamoto2009; Sakamoto2014a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces, and rat faeces. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 54% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). A minor coloniser.
