Overview

  • Campylobacter peloridis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, microaerophilic, motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Campylobacter peloridis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Debruyne2009)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (CCUG), clinical specimens and shellfish. Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. A possible gut commensal.
