Overview

  • Campylobacter troglodytis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 34-38%. Campylobacter troglodytis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Kaur2011)

  • This organism has been recovered from chimpanzee stools. Also detected in human faeces (Bilen2018e). Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. A possible gut commensal.
