Overview

  • Cellulomonas carbonis is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 74.4%. Cellulomonas carbonis is likely to be transient and not a long-term gut coloniser. (Shi2012)

  • This organism has been recovered from coal mine soil, China. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Likely to be transient and not a long-term gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Aerobic and optimum growth temperature of 28C suggests this is an unlikely gut coloniser.
