Overview

  • Cellulosilyticum ruminicola is a Gram-negative, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 33.7%. Cellulosilyticum ruminicola is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Cai2010)

  • This organism has been recovered from the rumen contents of a yak, Tibet. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
