Overview

  • Cloacibacillus porcorum is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. It has been detected in at least 6 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 55.1%. Cloacibacillus porcorum is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Domingo2015; Looft2013)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Bilen2018e), clinical sources (blood - CCUG) and pig intestines. Could be a possible pathogen in humans, but unknown at this stage. A possible gut commensal.
