Overview

  • Clostridium aminophilum is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 52.5%. Clostridium aminophilum is probably a rare gut coloniser.

  • This organism has been recovered from fistulated cattle. The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 1, i.e., low risk of infection and spread. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
