Overview

  • Clostridium culturomicium is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 32.2%. Clostridium culturomicium is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Kieu2021)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (obese). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
