Overview

  • Clostridium ihumii is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 26.7%. Clostridium ihumii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Merhej2015; Pfleiderer2018)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Merhej2015). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
