Overview

  • Clostridium senegalense is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 3 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 26.8%. Clostridium senegalense is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Mishra2012a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces, and human gut. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
