Overview

  • Clostridium transplantifaecale is a Gram-positive, anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 48.1%. Clostridium transplantifaecale is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Yimagou2019)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Clostridioides difficile infection). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Virtually all 50 carbohydrates tested (API50) were positive; this result is rather surprising.
