Overview

  • Comamonas thiooxydans is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 61.4%. Comamonas thiooxydans is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Narayan2010)

  • This organism has been recovered from sulfur spring sediment. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Utilises thiosulfate as an electron acceptor.
