Overview

  • Corynebacterium pyruviciproducens is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, coryneform bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 62%. Corynebacterium pyruviciproducens is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Tong2010; Bernard2012Bergey)

  • This organism has been recovered from clinical sources (groin abscess). Can cause opportunistic infections, particularly in immunocompromised people. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Lipophilic.
