Overview

  • Culturomica massiliensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. Culturomica massiliensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Traore2017a; Ndongo2016c)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Bilen2018e). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
