Overview

  • Enorma massiliensis, (aka Coriobacteriaceae bacterium phI), is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 7 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 62.0%. Enorma massiliensis is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Mishra2013a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Is a known gut commensal.
