Overview

  • Enterobacter hormaechei subsp. steigerwaltii is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. Enterobacter hormaechei subsp. steigerwaltii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Hoffmann2005; Grimont2005Bergey)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces and clinical sources (urine, wound, genitals - CCUG). It is an opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.
