Overview

  • Gordonibacter massiliensis is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 65.1%. Gordonibacter massiliensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Traore2017a; Ngom2019)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Bilen2018e). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
