Overview

  • Gordonibacter urolithinfaciens is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 4 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 66.4%. Gordonibacter urolithinfaciens is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Jin2014; Selma2014)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Alkhalil2017, CCUG). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 28% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
