Overview

  • Hathewaya massiliensis, (aka Clostridium culturomicum), is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 29.4%. Hathewaya massiliensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Tall2020a; Pham2017)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Tall2020a). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
