Overview

  • Helicobacter rodentium is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, microaerophilic, motile, rod-shaped - curved bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Helicobacter rodentium is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Shen1997)

  • This organism has been recovered from mouse gastrointestinal tract. The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 2, i.e., risk of individual infection, but low risk of spread (notes: animal pathogen). It is an opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.
