Overview

  • Intestinimonas massiliensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 3 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 60.7%. Intestinimonas massiliensis is a common gut coloniser. (Afouda2018; Durand2017a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Afouda2018). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
