Overview

  • Klebsiella grimontii is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 55.4%. Klebsiella grimontii is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Passet2018)

  • This organism has been recovered from bacteraemia, wounds, faeces, haemorrhagic colitis. It is an opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 11% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
