Overview

  • Leptotrichia amnionii is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, anaerobic, non-motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 3 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. Leptotrichia amnionii is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Shukla2002)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces, and human amniotic fluid. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
