  • Ligilactobacillus ceti, (aka Lactobacillus ceti), is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. Ligilactobacillus ceti is likely to be transient and not a long-term gut coloniser. (Rossi2016; Vela2008)



  • This organism has been recovered from the lungs of a beaked whale. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Likely to be transient and not a long-term gut commensal.
