Overview

  • Metabacillus idriensis, (aka Bacillus idriensis), is a Gram-positive, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 41.2%. Metabacillus idriensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Ko2006)

  • This organism has been recovered from a newborn child with sepsis. It is an opportunistic pathogen. A possible gut commensal.
