Overview

  • Mixta intestinalis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 59.1%. Mixta intestinalis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Palmer2018; Prakash2015)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Prakash2015). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
