Overview

  • Negativibacillus massiliensis is a Gram-negative, spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 2 gut microbiome compilation studies or metastudies. The DNA G+C content is 45.4%. Negativibacillus massiliensis is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Ricaboni2016b; Valles2021)

  • This organism has been recovered from human left colon and human faeces (Bilen2018e). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 53% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
