Overview

  • Oleidesulfovibrio vietnamensis, (aka Desulfovibrio vietnamensis), is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, vibrio bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 60.6%. Oleidesulfovibrio vietnamensis is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Dang1996)

  • This organism has been recovered from production fluids from offshore oil fields, Vietnam. The risk classification (www.baua.de) for this organism is 1, i.e., low risk of infection and spread. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
