Overview

  • Paenibacillus donghaensis is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, facultatively anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 53.1%. Paenibacillus donghaensis is likely to be transient and not a long-term gut coloniser. (Choi2008)

  • This organism has been recovered from sea sediment, Korea. Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. Likely to be transient and not a long-term gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • Can't grow at 35C or above, so unlikely to be a gut coloniser.
