Overview

  • Parabacteroides pekinense is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 46.5%. Parabacteroides pekinense is probably a rare gut coloniser.

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (healthy). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
