Overview

  • Parabacteroides timonensis is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. Parabacteroides timonensis is probably a common, although minor, coloniser of the gut. (Bilen2016a)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Bilen2016a). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.

  • QUIRKS
  • In 12% of Europeans (unseenbio.com). Minor coloniser.
