Overview

  • Parolsenella catena is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, coccobacillus bacterium. It has been detected in at least 1 gut microbiome compilation study or metastudy. The DNA G+C content is 68.4%. Parolsenella catena is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Sakamoto2018c; Sakamoto2019)

  • This organism has been recovered from human faeces (Sakamoto2018c). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
