Overview

  • Parvibacter caecicola is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium. The DNA G+C content is 62.5%. Parvibacter caecicola is probably a rare gut coloniser. (Stoll2021; Clavel2013)

  • This organism has been recovered from mouse caecum. Has been detected in human faeces (Alkhalil2017). Pathogenicity status unknown, or very unlikely to be pathogenic. A possible gut commensal.
